TTA Tuesday Afternoon at the Movies, June 9, 2026

For your second 2026 Tuesday afternoon at the movies, on June 9th we present Cinema Paradiso, an Italian movie that has been cited as one of the greatest films of all time, and a world cinema classic that has won several awards.

Set in a small Sicilian town, the movie centres on the friendship between a mischievous but smart boy, Toto, bonding with the aging projectionist of the village's only cinema, Cinema Paradiso.  This enchanting story takes us along the path of the boy's childhood through his teen years when he falls in love, finally to his adulthood as a successful filmmaker.

Two documentaries will be shown before the main feature:

1.  A Chinese child with Down Syndrome is adopted in the USA

2.  How is Trump's tariff affecting the Chinese clothing factories?

Doors open at noon and the documentary starts at 1 p.m. in the TTA upstairs hall

Cover charge is $8 (snacks included).
