TTA Cycle Club Ride #7 - Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019

Updated: Nov 17, 2020

Enjoy a ride from Peterborough to Omemee Rail Trail and return - approximately 30 kms long.   Coordinator, Gladstone Lue Sang provides the following details:

************************************************************ Please note that this year we are meeting at a different starting point in Peterborough than on previous rides.

The new place is away from the somewhat seedy aspects of  Peterborough's downtown and thus will feel safer. Also, the Timmies there will give us close access to washrooms if needed. ************************************************************ We meet on Sunday, September 15th at 10:30 a.m. at the Tim Hortons at 871 Chemong Rd in Peterborough It's a 1 hour and 15 minute drive from Toronto's border with Pickering.  Here are the directions to get there coming from Toronto, via 401 and Hwy 115. leave highway 115 in Peterborough at the exit to the Parkway and follow it for about 500 m past the highway underpassturn right onto Crawford Rd and continue for 2 kmturn left onto Monaghan Rd and drive for 4 kmturn right onto Parkhill Rd W and drive 300 mturn left onto Fairbairn St and drive 500 mturn right onto Highland Rd and drive 700 mTimmies will be on your right.

Our route follows an old railway track through a natural countryside, wetlands alternating with forests and farmland.  There are no hills, and we will turn around after about 15 km at the old trestle bridge with its spectacular view.  The ride will last about 3 hrs. at an easy cycling speed. After the ride, we will choose between coffee at Timmies, or ice cream at the Kawartha Dairy place beside the river. Bring along your bike, helmet and accessories, water, drinks and snacks to keep you happy and dress according to weather conditions. There's a TTA fee of $5.00 per person or $10.00 per family and you are asked to sign a waiver of liability  before starting. Outdoor activities with members, family and friends are lots of fun and it's GOOD FOR YOU. Please Contact:  Gladstone at 416 837 1805 / or Barry at 416 457 9764.
