Friday Nite at the Movies - April 26, 2019

The first Friday Nite at the Movies for 2019 comes your way on April 26th. It's a great double-header as usual, with a documentary and a popular feature film.

Beginning at 7 p.m. The Chinese in America, a documentary in English, explores how the Chinese Exclusion Act produces a bachelor society as Chinese men continue to support families back home, and are unable to bring their wives to America. World War 2 offers opportunities for the Chinese who embark on a new phase of the journey to citizenship.

Don't miss the popular movie, The Crazy Rich Asians. It starts at 9 p.m. and is based on Kevin Kwan's best selling novel. New Yorker, Rachel Chu is happy to accompany her longtime boyfriend Nick, to his best friend's wedding in Singapore. She is also surprised to learn that Nick's family is extremely wealthy and he is considered one of the country's most eligible bachelor. Thrust into the spotlight, Rachel must now contend with jealous socialites, quirky relatives and something far worse, Nick's disapproving mother.

It's $6 for movie and dessert. Supper is $6 per plate and will be served between 6 - 7 p.m. and is by Reservations Only. Menu- roast chicken, Chinese greens and steamed rice.
